The Dunlap Lake Luau Postponed

The Dunlap Lake LUAU has been RESCHEDULED for Saturday, June 13.

The event was cancelled for today because the social lot is already a muddy mess and more rain is expected throughout the day.

We will meet on Saturday, June 13 instead. Please note that the times will change. We have to move everything up an hour. That makes the Boat Parade at 3 pm and dinner at 5 pm.

Hope you can join us then!

RSVP Now for the Dunlap Lake Luau Sat. May 30

The hula dancers have been booked for 7 pm and fire and music show will start at 8:45 pm. This will be an event to remember.

4 pm Boat parade – Start planning now, this year’s theme is music. Consider a tribute to your favorite rock band, recreate a Disney music video, or get your neighbors to put on their flapper dresses and swing to the big bands. The boats will meet at the underwater bridge and move counterclockwise around the lake. Judging will be at the start of the parade and prizes will be awarded for the best decorated boats.

5 pm Family Fun – DJ Jim Hursey will be playing music and coordinating activities for the kids at the lot across from 113 W. Lake.  A potluck dinner will start at 6 pm. Bring lawn chairs and a dish to share generously. Meat, plates and lemonade will be provided by the Association.

Please RSVP as soon as possible with a total count of your guests so we can order enough food. Just reply to this message to reach Carolyn or our social chair

What’s your favorite thing about living here?
Boating and swimming with my family and friends.

What brought you here?
My wife had relatives who were original residents on the lake and she had been coming here all her life.  We enjoyed visiting and when the opportunity came up we moved here.

What’s something about you that people may not know?
I am a member of the lake board and I brought the idea of the fireworks show to the board and I have chaired the committee ever since.

Is there something you want people to know?
You don’t have to be on the lake board to be part of a committee.  This lake belongs to all of us and there are a lot of challenges we face and get involved and help work with the board.
