Frequently Asked Questons

Question: What does the City of Edwardsville require residents to do about snow removal now that we have sidewalks along East Lake Drive?

Answer: Snow should not remain on any sidewalk along any lot, house or building within the city for over a period of 24 hours.  During major snow storms officials will be lenient regarding enforcement of the snow removal ordinance and sidewalks should be cleared as soon as possible (Sec. 74-114).

Listed below are other ordinances regarding snow removal:

  • Sec. 74-117 – Snow Deposits
  • Sec. 74-118 – Failure to remove snow or ice
  • Sec. 74-119 – Exemptions
These ordinances can be found on the City of Edwardsville website under the Ordinances tab.
